“Mana Pasaule”12” x 18”When I was 6 or 7 I had a copy of a Richard Scarry book that was translated into Latvian. I’d read it with my grandmother, and absorbing it as a kid has been a huge influence on my work. His “busyworld” illustrations are something that I can still look at and enjoy picking out all the details. There is something very relaxing to me about drawing busy city-scapes, adding all thevibrant colors, details, etc. It can be a slightly OCD process but the results are worth it.
